Thank you, ZM. I've been thinking of you guys, too, just have been mildly overwhelmed with all this.

Please don't hesitate if there's anything we can do to help you guys.

Thank you so much, Karen.
They've asked me to stay away for now, as he's now on the Oncology ward with a bunch of other folks who also have no immune systems due to chemo. But I'm starting to feel better, and should be able to go visit on Tuesday.

Thank you so much for your kind words!

So sorry that your Dad is having such a struggle. I sure hope for the best for him!

I felt bad when I read that you couldn't even visit him & wanted to mention that you may be able to wear a protective breathing mask to shield him from germs.

My Mom was in the hospital several times over the past years, in very fragile condition, yet the hospital let immediate family members who had colds visit her (even in ICU & CCU) as long as we wore masks that covered the nose & mouth completely. We were also very very careful to use hand sanitizers, etc.

I believe many hospitals will even lend masks to visitors if you check with the front desk as you enter the building. I believe the masks are pretty effective; I've even seen medical staff wearing them when they have colds & coughs...

Take care,
Karen

This reminds me of that Four Bitchin Babes song "Italy and France". My brother sent us a copy because we love Italy so much but the lyrics led me to look up more about the song. It was written about having a child with autism, but it works for anything that turns out differently than you expected, but is just as good, if not better the way it worked out. Check out the lyrics.

all of you are in my prayers, especially your dad.

That was originally my intent, but we used up all the leftover turkey except for one drumstick, and I really dislike dark poultry meat. So chicken breasts it was!!
