Dental Health – Healing cavities and years of mistreatment
I’ve been reading Dr. Ellie’s blog about dental health. She’s got this amazing program that restores health to your teeth with a simple combination of over the counter products. It’s about what you use, but even more it’s about how and in what order you use them. This is not the “food combinations diet” for your teeth. No, there’s solid science behind this one.
Do this a minimum of twice a day. Better yet is to do it every time you eat. I’m committing to three times a day.
First, you rinse with Closys oral rinse.
Then brush with ORIGINAL Crest paste, not the gel.
Do not rinse with water. Instead spit and then swish with original Listerine.
Last, rinse with original ACT fluoride treatment. Be careful not to get ACT Restore.
Don’t forget to floss. And chew mints or gum with Xylitol.
In 3 days of doing part of the program (couldn’t find the Closys – finally got some today – and can’t find the xylitol mints or gum, so will have to order some online) my teeth already are whiter, less sensitive, and shinier. They look healthier than they ever have.
I’m sold.
We’ll see how things look after 3 months, and after 6 months. For comparison, here is my smile today:

The details are over at Dr. Ellie’s blog. Please check it out. I’m not getting anything from this – I just want everyone to be as excited about it as I am. Read the science behind it – it can actually heal minor cavities and thin enamel.

PCC had some xylitol gum at the registers, at last they did a few months ago when I picked some up.

I got over here by doing a search for walmart & closys. I just found Dr. Ellies blog a week ago, and like you don’t have all the ingredients yet. I’ve been using the Crest, Listerine, and ACT so far but haven’t noticed much other than my teeth feeling smoother if that makes sense.
I’m off to the store now (it seems some Walmarts carry the closys) to try out the rest.

Thanks, Sue and Amy, for your comments.
Sue: I ended up getting a bag of Xylitol from Fresh Vitamins, and I allow a pinch of it to dissolve in my mouth after meals. I use my tongue to rub it across my teeth as it dissolves.
Amy: Yes, your teeth “feeling smoother” DOES make sense! That was the first thing I really noticed. My teeth after one month feel smoother, cleaner, and look shinier than they have in quite a long time. Also I don’t have “morning breath” anymore!! The Closys is definitely a key component, so if you can’t find it in a store try online. It is what de-acidifies your mouth so that the brushing doesn’t scratch the soft enamel surface of your teeth. It does make a difference. Also gargling with it kills the bacteria and kills the sulfur that they produce, which is what causes bad breath! If you still can’t find Closys, rinse with a mild saltwater solution before brushing as a substitute.
Good luck!
