Health: Sciatic Nerve Pain

Posted on July 20, 2008. Filed under: Health and Wellness | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

Occasionally, due to my disease, I have a flareup of sciatic nerve pain. Today is one of those days.

It may simply be to my increased activity level, or me having pulled my back a bit this week. It may be because my sacroiliac joint is inflamed, causing inflammation in the nerve.

Either way, I’ve got searing nerve pain in my low back, through my butt, down the back of my thigh and calf, and into the arch of my foot.

I stretched it before and after the walk today, which helped some. Tonight I’ll be sleeping with the help of a xanax. And tomorrow, I will re-start the stretches that my Physical Therapist taught me 10+ years ago to keep the pain under control.

Wednesday I have a re-check with Dr. Overman. I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds in the month since I saw him. He’d better be impressed… I am!
